LAT has extensive experience in building turboexpanders with oil bearing systems with either a standard sleeve bearing or tilt pad bearings. Whether the design represents a single-stage turboexpander or two-stage turboexpanders operating in series with a common auxiliary system on a single skid, L.A. Turbine can build it. Active Magnetic Bearing (AMB) Turboexpanders


Turboexpanders equipped with active magnetic bearings (AMB) are available in two designs for the controller and the programmable logic control panel (PLC). Either an on-skid configuration where both the controller and control panel are mounted on the skid platform with the turboexpander and installed within the hub of the plant processing area. Or the off-skid configuration, where the controller and control panel are located away from the skid and installed in a separate building, often designated as the control room.
